How do I get a tax code as a foreigner?+
You can apply at the Agenzia delle Entrate with just your passport. It's free and issued the same day. If you're abroad, you can apply at the Italian consulate.
How soon must I apply for a residence permit?+
Within 8 days of entering Italy for non-EU citizens. The application is filed at an authorized post office using the postal kit at โฌ70.46. EU citizens do not need a residence permit.
Can I get SPID with a foreign document?+
Yes. With a foreign passport or ID you can activate SPID through providers like Namirial, Sielte or Poste Italiane, even remotely. Some providers require the tax code.
Which benefits can I claim as a foreigner?+
Depends on your permit type and ISEE. With residency and valid ISEE you can access: Assegno Unico, nursery bonus, bill bonus, reduced waste tax and in some cases ADI. EU citizens access the same benefits as Italians.
