Can the bonus be combined with other benefits?

The nursery bonus cannot be combined with the 19% IRPEF deduction for nursery fees for the same expense. You must choose which benefit to use for each fee.

Is it also available for public nurseries?

Yes, also for public nurseries, as long as a fee is paid. If the nursery is completely free the bonus does not apply.

What happens if the child changes nursery?

You must update the application on INPS indicating the new nursery and the new attendance date. Reimbursements will be credited for both facilities in their respective periods.

Nursery bonus

The nursery bonus is an INPS contribution for families with children up to 3 years old who attend public or private nurseries, or for those who cannot send their child to nursery due to serious chronic conditions. The amount depends on ISEE: from €1,500 to €3,000 per year. The application must be submitted each year.

Step-by-step procedure

Check the amount based on ISEE

The bonus is: €1,500/year (ISEE above €40,000); €2,500/year (ISEE between €25,001 and €40,000); €3,000/year (ISEE up to €25,000). Without ISEE you receive the minimum amount (€1,500). Make sure you have an up-to-date minors ISEE.

The ISEE to use for this bonus is the minors ISEE (DSU that includes the children).

Submit the application on INPS

Log in to inps.it with SPID or CIE. Search for Bonus asilo nido and press New application. Enter the child's details, the nursery (name and tax code) and your ISEE. You can delegate a patronage office for free. The application must be submitted by 31 December of the year of attendance.

You can apply retroactively for months already attended in the same year.

Upload the monthly receipts

Each month, within 240 days of paying the nursery fee, you must upload the receipt/invoice on INPS. INPS reimburses the monthly amount to your IBAN. The reimbursement does not exceed the actual fee paid or the annual maximum.

If the nursery does not issue receipts: always request a payment receipt for each month. Without a receipt you cannot get the reimbursement.
